Lifestyle Optimization
Lifestyle psychiatry is an approach to mental health that involves identifying and changing habits that impact mental health symptoms. These include physical activity, diet, sleep, how and where you spend your time, who you spend your time with, and how you treat yourself and others.
Lifestyle habits that support mental well-being, such as increasing exercise and improving sleep hygiene, can enhance the effectiveness of psychotropic medications. On the other hand, diets low in essential nutrients and high in alcohol intake can interfere with the effectiveness of medications.
