What to Expect with Medication Management
Before starting any medication, a free 15-minute introductory call with Dr. Bowers is required. This call allows you to share your concerns and determine if the practice is the right fit.
Your initial appointment will include a thorough psychiatric evaluation covering your symptoms, medical history, previous medications, and treatment goals. Dr. Bowers takes a thoughtful and collaborative approach to medication management, involving shared decision-making and informed consent. If medication is recommended, Dr. Bowers will explain the expected benefits, potential side effects, and how the medication fits within your broader treatment plan. Rates for Medication Management
Bowers Integrative Psychiatry is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. A superbill can be provided for submission to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
Initial Appointments
Adult intakes are typically 60–90 min. Children and adolescent intakes are typically 90 min.

Visit length is determined by individual needs and level of complexity.

Frequently Asked Questions About Medication Management

Dr. Bowers prescribes psychotropic medications including antidepressants, mood stabilizers, anxiolytics, and antipsychotics. Stimulant medications may be prescribed for specific diagnoses. Any patient with a previous diagnosis requiring stimulants will be asked to provide documentation of their diagnosis and medication use from previous physicians prior to continuation.

Dr. Bowers does not routinely prescribe benzodiazepines such as Ativan, Klonopin, Valium, or Xanax, nor does she routinely prescribe Ambien, Lunesta, or Sonata. In some cases, these medications may be prescribed briefly (1–2 weeks) to manage side effects of other medications. Dr. Bowers does not prescribe opioids of any kind.
